We may not be getting a KFC anytime soon but Katherine will be the first town in the Territory to open a Pie Face.

Pie Face is being built as a part of United Petroleum’s new upgraded service station, on the corner of O’Shea Terrace and the Stuart Highway.

Pie Face is a fast food outlet specialising in take away handmade meat pies with dozens of franchise outlets along the east coast of Australia.

Construction of the new multi-million-dollar petrol station is due for completion in mid-October.

“The new United Katherine redevelopment will include a Pie Face Restaurant complimenting a 24 hour Quick Stop convenience store,” a United Petroleum spokesman said.

United Petroleum’s national marketing manager Andrew English said the facilities will include a new refuelling canopy and pumps with all grades of fuel at ultra-competitive prices.

“The site will also be provide clean and comfortable amenities with bathroom facilities, bringing customers food, rest and fuel needs into one place,” Mr English said.

“We are excited about the opportunity to improve the economic and social amenity in Katherine by delivering a new generation service station with a broad range of fuel and retail offerings to service the local community.

“As the main food and fuel offer at the northern entrance to the town, the newly refurbished store at 37 Katherine Terrace is ideally located to serve locals, tourists and the transport industry using the busy Stuart Highway,” he said.

“The new Pie Face Restaurant will offer a delicious range of handcrafted oven fresh pies and pastries which are baked fresh instore daily along with artisan roasted coffee.”

“United is all about bringing better deals on fuel, food and convenience items and, in doing so, providing more choice and bigger savings for our customers” Mr English said.
