United Petroleum opens in Singapore
After 18 months of rigorous research and due diligence to find the perfect team and location, United Petroleum has recently opened its doors in Singapore. Singapore is one of the world’s largest trading hubs and is especially important for commodities like petrol and diesel. Singapore is unique in offering not only relevant services to the commodities industry but also is known as an efficient, stable and cost effective location for business.
The Singapore office will manage oil procurement activity for the entire United Group in Australia, while seeking the best available terms of trade. This will optimise United’s trading relationships with our key suppliers to generate the maximum profit while providing flexibility for the changing needs of the company – for example importing Premium 98 petrol, which was previously locally sourced.
The Singapore operation is key to supporting the growth in volume and expansion of United’s business and feeding the expanding terminal infrastructure with the additional storage capacity in Hastings and the new terminal being developed in Brisbane port.
The future looks bright with new business streams, selling to third party importers in Australia and also in the wider Asia Pacific region and looking for new oil related investment opportunities in other parts of the world.
