2 October 2024
- New fuel discount partnership between State Government and United Petroleum to offer cost of living relief to Western Australian seniors
- Discount will save WA Seniors Card members four cents a litre off price of fuel up to value of $70 a year
- Cook Government committed to reducing the cost of living for older Western Australians
Under a major discount partnership between United Petroleum and the WA State Government, WA Seniors Card members can register online for the United app or plastic United fuel discount card to save four cents a litre off the price of fuel at United service stations across the country.
It is estimated that members who redeem this discount can save up to $70 a year. There are 34 United Petroleum fuel outlets in WA, including 11 in regional areas, and more than 400 around Australia.
The discount partnership reinforces the Cook Government’s commitment to reducing the cost of living for seniors.
The initiative complements other cost of living measures like the Regional Pensioner Travel Card, which has already seen more than 55,000 regional pensioners benefit from the increased travel support of $675 per annum towards the cost of fuel or taxi travel.
There are also discounts available from participating businesses on a wide range of good and services that are listed in the 2024-2025 WA Seniors Card Discount Directory.
Members can contact the WA Seniors Card Centre on 1800 671 233, or email info@seniorscard.wa.gov.au to pre-order a copy.

Comments attributed to Judith Russell, Head of Loyalty at United Petroleum:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with the WA Seniors Card program to provide WA Seniors with the opportunity to save four cents per litre off the price of fuel at participating United service stations across the country, including 23 metropolitan and 11 regional WA locations.
“United is 100 per cent behind helping seniors save at the bowser. Our already low fuel prices together with this discount helps provide further relief to the cost of living. We’re proud to be the go-to fuel service station of choice for thousands of seniors right across WA.
“WA Seniors Card members simply need to register online for the United app or plastic United fuel discount card. If seniors choose the United app, this can be downloaded into a smartphone and used straight away, while the plastic card will be delivered within five to 15 business days.
“Members need to show the barcode in the United app or swipe the magnetic stripe on the back of the plastic card, at the time of purchase at participating United service stations to save the 4 cents per litre.
“The United fuel discount can be used once a day for a purchase to a maximum of 150L in a single transaction, and it applies to our entire range of fuel.”
